Welcome to Avanti House Primary School; first opened in September 2012, we are a Hindu-faith school – part of the multi-academy, Avanti Schools Trust.
Our core values are central to all we do in developing young people. Whilst drawn from the Vaishnavist tradition of the Hindu Faith, our ethos also attracts students from families from across all faiths and from those of none. We are a fully inclusive school with no faith-based admissions criteria.
Learning at our school extends well beyond the traditional classroom. We offer a rich and varied co-curricular programme designed to broaden pupils' experiences and nurture their individual talents. From Yoga and Sanskrit to Physical Education, Music, art clubs, technology, and competitive sports, our provision encourages personal growth, creativity, and character development. These opportunities are carefully planned to promote teamwork, leadership, self-discipline, and a lifelong love for learning.
Enriching Experiences
Our curriculum immerses students in the powerful knowledge and intellectual conversations of a broad range of subject disciplines, equipping them to make sense of the world around them and to excel in a range of fields. By nurturing students’ sense of identity and perspective, purpose and connection, it creates capacity for informed and conscientious collaboration now and in the future.
Academic Life
Avanti House Primary School places a strong emphasis on both mental and physical well-being. Regular Yoga and meditation sessions are thoughtfully integrated into the school timetable, supporting pupils in developing mindfulness, inner calm, and physical vitality. These practices not only enhance focus and emotional regulation but also align with our wider ethos of nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
Yoga & Meditation
Avanti House Primary School offers a wide range of educational visits, including day trips, workshops, expeditions, and residential experiences. These opportunities enrich the curriculum and bring learning to life beyond the classroom. Pupils have enjoyed visits to destinations such as the Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens, Whipsnade Zoo, and many others. In Years 5 and 6, children also take part in week-long residentials, including a visit to the Isle of Wight and a retreat at The Vedanta, deepening their learning, independence, and spiritual understanding.
Educational Visits
A key element of our ethos is the provision of hot, fresh, and nutritious vegetarian meals. Sharing wholesome and delicious school lunches is an essential part of the educational experience at an Avanti school, fostering community, well-being, and mindful eating. Our pupils consistently enjoy the meals provided and look forward to lunchtime as a highlight of their day.
